Brad J. Williams, DUI Specialist
ARKANSAS ATTORNEY FIRST BOARD-CERTIFIED DUI SPECIALIST
CONWAY, Arkansas – Attorney Brad J. Williams has earned his place in an esteemed group of lawyers, as one of only 51 attorneys
in the United States to achieve board certification in DUI Defense, and the first and only in Arkansas. The Board Certification process
is administered by the National College for DUI Defense (“the NCDD”) and accredited by the American Bar Association. The NCDD
is a national, professional association of DUI defense lawyers with a membership of approximately 2400 attorneys.
Board Certification is a means of recognizing lawyers who exemplify the program’s standards, and who meet the criteria established
by the Board of Regents: extensive experience trying DUI cases and litigating pre-trial issues, a broad knowledge of the science
involved in testing for intoxicants, and a command of the legal process on which DUI cases are framed.
The rigorous certification process includes passing a written examination administered by the Regents of the National College for DUI
Defense on various topics including constitutional law, breath and blood alcohol testing, alcohol absorption and elimination
physiology, field sobriety testing, and professional ethics. Applicants must also draft and argue an appellate brief before a panel of
Regents from the National College for DUI Defense. Applicants for Board Certification must first demonstrate prior DUI defense trial
experience to include at least fifty-five contested DUI cases within the three years prior to examination and submit several judicial and
attorney recommendations.
“When clients are accused of drunk driving, their future and career may be jeopardized; they deserve to have someone in their corner
that not only knows the law, but has extensive trial experience and board certified expertise. This ensures that all my clients get the
best defense possible,” said Williams.
Brad J. Williams grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas. He is a graduate of Hendrix College and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock
School of Law. He is also a graduate of the Trial Practice Institute of the National Criminal Defense College (NCDC) at Mercer
University School of Law.
The entirety of Brad’s practice is devoted to drunk driving and criminal defense. Brad is the first and only ACS-CHAL Lawyer
Scientist in the State of Arkansas; a designation bestowed by the American Chemical Society on attorneys who have completed
education in forensic principles of chromatography, drug analysis, and DUI Drugs. He is a trained field sobriety test practitioner and
instructor. He was the first lawyer in Arkansas to complete the Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE) course
and the DRE Overview Course for lawyers.
